Devin Pickering is a storyteller working across multiple disciplines. He began his career as an editor, crafting stories for television networks including ESPN, PBS, ABC, FOX, and CNN before focusing on cinematography and directing in 2012. Since then, he has written, directed, filmed, edited, and scored award-winning films while creating work for brands including Patagonia, Converse, Vox, and Vice. 

Most recently, Pickering co-directed, photographed, edited, and composed the original score for Lost Arts, a ten-part documentary series exploring the hidden costs of our food system through the lives of 10 Hudson Valley characters working to preserve traditional knowledge to cultivate a more sustainable future. 

He is currently developing Sit's Story, a short documentary tracing one man's extraordinary journey from Communist China to the heart of a kitchen in the Hudson Valley—a quiet meditation on freedom, on food, belonging, and the enduring search for home.

Based in New York’s Hudson Valley - Devin is available for international productions and works with various camera systems including: blackmagic, arri, sony, canon, red, panasonic, fuji and dji. In addition to filming on land, Devin is an FAA-licensed + insured drone pilot, with over a decade of experience in the air.
