the hudson: a river at risk

For many years, the Hudson River, like so many waterways across the U.S., was treated like an infinite waste barrel, a receptacle for poisonous chemicals and hazardous waste. During the past forty years, thanks to a committed group of environmentalists and their agencies, the river has become markedly cleaner, a far more welcoming place for small business and community investment. However, new threats loom on the horizon once again.

aerodrome

Set in upstate New York's Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, this award-winning documentary paints an intimate portrait of a group of pilots who not only transcend the sterile tech-driven world of modern aviation, but stay true to the spirit of what pioneers held close to their hearts over 100 years ago. With the oldest flying airplane in North America and one of the most impressive collections of functional antique aircraft in the world, the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is truly a place where history comes to life.

dear president obama

The film takes a cross-country look at drilling, highlighting its variety of contaminations, the stories of its victims, the false promise of an economic boom, with a focus on clean energy solutions that would allow us to proceed towards a future that does not rely on yet another dirty fossil fuel extraction process. Interviews with scientists, economists, health professionals, geologists and whistle-blowers provide the core information we think will convince the current President and those that will follow to join the “anti-drilling” majority growing across the United States and call for fossil fuels to be left where they belong, in the ground.

sinfonia antarctica

A live concert film with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra performing Vaughan Williams' Sinfonia Antarctica, accompanied by live narration and projected video from filmmaker and adventurer Jon Bowermaster. With a reputation as cold, forbidding and remote, Antarctica can also be a fragile place, home to an incredible variety of life along its edges. Join National Geographic explorer Jon Bowermaster as he and his team travel along the continent’s frozen coastline in ‘Sinfonia Antarctica'. The adventurers explore by sea kayak, ice-worthy sailboat and on foot to gain an up-close look and attempt to better understand just how the seventh continent is changing – and in some parts changing very fast — in part due to a warming ocean. From its place anchoring the bottom of the globe, Antarctica might seem too frozen to have any impact on the rest of the planet. But the very fact that it is constantly changing – the sea around it freezing and thawing every year – makes it the planet’s beating heart, its rhythm intimately influencing the earth’s weather, ocean currents and climate.
